Thank you for your interest in learning more about the Capital Scholars Honors Program at the University of Illinois Springfield. Our selective program is centered on an engaging, interdisciplinary curriculum that challenges students to think critically to understand and appreciate societys' complexities. Approaching the world from an interdisciplinary perspective encourages active citizenship, fosters effective communication, enhances successful community-building, and enables productive problem-solving.

Participation in CAP Honors provides numerous opportunties for students to think creatively and inquistively about historical trends, current issues, contemporary scholarship, and future possibilities. Through discussion based seminar-style courses, a residential living-learning community, undergraduate research projects, study abroad opportunities, and abundant campus involvement possibilities, our honors program enhances student leadership abilities and develops appreication of lifelong learning. Our students take jobs in dynamic and influential companies and go on to reknown professional and graduate schools because our program intentionally fosters the technical skills, communication proficiencies, and community building vital to successful and meaningful careers.
