Transfer relief pitcher Isaac Graf has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week following a dominant opening weekend for the Prairie Stars. Graf made two appearances, totaling 3.1 innings, and did not allow a run or a hit while recording one save.
The honor is the first GLVC weekly award of the season for UIS Baseball and marks the first such recognition of Graf's career as a Prairie Star. The newcomer from East Moline, Ill., becomes the program's first Pitcher of the Week winner since Ben Benoit earned the award on April 21, 2025.
Graf closed out the series opener versus Florida Southern, delivering 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He did not surrender a hit, struck out five batters, and worked through one walk while earning the save in a 3-2 UIS victory. He returned to the mound on Sunday and again kept the opposition off the scoreboard, tossing one inning with no hits allowed, one strikeout, and one walk.
Graf owns a 0.00 ERA and has quickly established himself as a reliable late-inning option for the Prairie Stars. UIS returns to action against UMSL on Friday at the UIS Baseball Field.
