The University of Illinois Springfield athletic department has achieved a GPA above 3.50 for the third consecutive semester, continuing a strong tradition of academic success among Prairie Stars student-athletes.

In spring 2025, 238 student-athletes combined for a 3.55 GPA. Every team posted a GPA of 3.25 or higher, with 70% of programs surpassing the 3.50 mark and 35% reaching 3.80 or better.

Women's cross country led all UIS teams with a 3.86 GPA, followed closely by women's track and field and women's golf, which each posted a 3.85. On the men's side, men's soccer earned the highest team GPA at 3.69.

A total of 165 student-athletes earned a 3.50 GPA or higher during the semester, including 57 individuals who posted a perfect 4.0.
