Copyleaks AI Detector Update
On July 8, Copyleaks upgraded its AI detector from v8.1 to v9. Our Copyleaks representative has indicated that "you may notice some differentiation in results on scans that are completed before versus after this change." As you are navigating these changes, if you have any questions or concerns about the results, COLRS staff is happy to work with you.
AI Source Match
If you've used Copyleaks before, you've likely seen their AI Phrases tool. This tool "detects phrases that appear with higher frequency in AI-written text than in human writing." Copyleaks highlights these phrases in varying shades of purple to indicate how likely the text is to be AI-generated.
On August 1, Copyleaks will be adding a second component to their AI Logic called AI Source Match. This feature "assesses if any part of the text matches AI-generated content already published elsewhere." In other words, if text in a student response is flagged as AI-generated content and matches content on a webpage, that content will show up in the "matched text" report with a link to the webpage and an "AI Source Match" icon.
