Transfer Student Orientation
We are excited to welcome you to the Prairie Star Community! Whether you are coming from a community college or another university, our orientation program is here to help you connect with resources, meet other UIS students, and feel confident in your transition to UIS.
Online Orientation - Canvas Course (Work at Your Own Pace)
Explore UIS resources and services whenever it’s convenient for you! This self-paced orientation is available to all new students—whether you're enrolled online or on campus.
- Access through your UIS Canvas dashboard using your NetID and password
- This is a free, non-credit and ungraded resource available to you!
In-Person Orientation (Strongly Encouraged)
In-person summer orientation isn’t required for transfer students, but it’s definitely encouraged! It’s a great way to meet other students, get connected to campus resources, and learn about all the opportunities UIS has to offer.
