Library Commons Construction

July 11 Update: Construction activities have begun! Materials and equipment have been set in the Lot A-North area, so expect to see fencing erected there soon!
Fencing is also being installed around the construction site. Please use caution and be aware of your surroundings when walking in the area.
July 7: Parking Lot A-North closed to allow the contractor to install fencing to convert the lot into a laydown area for materials.
Alternate parking can be found in Lot B, which is open to both Economy and Standard hang tags. You can check out our parking maps or visit the Parking website to explore all campus parking options. Please note that the small parking lot immediately south of HRB will remain open and accessible.

PAC Plumbing Project

July 11 Update: The project is progressing well and is on schedule with approximately 30-40% of the initial project phase completed.
As part of this current phase, temporary adjustments will be made to elevator and entrance availability:
- The Tower 3 elevator will be temporarily unavailable from July 14 to August 11. During this time, it will be used exclusively by contractors to transport materials between floors.
- The Tower 2 elevator will serve as the primary elevator for faculty, staff, and students.
- The Tower 1 elevator remains out of service due to ongoing major repairs.
- The 2nd floor entrance of Tower 3 will be temporarily closed beginning July 14 to allow the contractor to work in that area. However, the automatic doors approximately 50 feet east of this entrance will remain open and accessible.
Restroom Availability:
- Tower 2 is currently the sole tower with water service.
- Towers 1 and 3 will remain without water for the foreseeable future.
The teardrop entrance is closed and SMTD bus service has been relocated to the bus shelter next to Founders Residence Hall at Eliza Farnham and Vachel Lindsay Drive.

PAC Tower 1 Elevator Out of Service
Critical repairs are needed for the elevator in Tower 1, so it has been taken out of service for the immediate future. F&S will oversee annual elevator inspections for all three towers in July.
Annual Inspections are scheduled for July 2, 3, 7, and 8. Elevators will be taken out of service temporarily during the inspection process. Please be mindful of posted signs.
