Move-In Day Volunteers

Residence Life is seeking volunteers to assist with Move In Day 2026. This is a wonderful way to meet new students, welcome families to campus, and celebrate the start of the year!
We recognize this is a busy time of year for everyone and appreciate all the help we can get.

Move In Day will take place on Thursday, August 20. We are in need of volunteers to assist with a variety of roles. You may volunteer to work the Morning shift (8am-11:30am), the Afternoon shift (11:30am-3pm), or you can choose to work the full day (8am-3pm).

These roles are:

• Traffic Director: Meet cars in front of the hall, give instructions for how to park; Communicate with Traffic Control at TRAC via radio when a space(s) becomes available. Standing, Walking.
• Parking Director: Assist the cars with parking as they arrive at the hall; Ensure they back into the space with the trunk closest to the building (this allows for easy unloading). Standing, Walking.
• Move In Crew Director: Monitor and direct the Move In Crew as they unload vehicles. Standing, Walking.
• Move In Crew: You will assist students with unloading their belongings from cars, loading them into moving carts, and taking their belongings to their room. Standing, Walking, Lifting, Pushing.

Residence Life will provide all volunteers with a "Welcome to the Prairie" t-shirt to wear for the day.

If you are interested in helping us out, please fill out the Google form by 5pm on August 5. Please note that this form is only for Faculty and Staff members, if you have students who would like to volunteer, let me know and I will send them the Student Move In Crew Volunteer information:
