Rukayah Hussein, admissions processor for enrollment and retention management, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for April 2026. 

Hussein’s hard work and dedication to her role as an international evaluator allow her to help students before they arrive on campus. She assists students during their application process through clear and constant communication.  

“She is always going above and beyond to help applicants,” said her nominator.  

Hussein’s supervisor, Rhyann Morris, notes that her commitment to her work is always appreciated and noticed, especially during the busy season.  

“Rukayah is highly dependable and has a strong commitment to her work. Her professionalism and dedication to supporting her team make her someone others trust and rely on,” Morris said.  

Colleagues also mention how her contagious positive energy and her dependability make it an amazing experience to work with her.  

“Rukayah collaborates seamlessly with offices across campus,” Morris added.  

Her expertise in international education allows her to better serve students when they apply to UIS.
