Jeff Sudduth, IT technical associate for Information Technology Services, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for February 2026.
Sudduth’s expertise supports other units on campus, creating a better experience for students and staff. He recently helped the Medical Laboratory Science program implement technology to support online course delivery.
“Program faculty were so grateful for his insights and are very pleased with the technology that Jeff recommended,” his nominator said.
Sudduth’s helpfulness is recognized by UIS employees, as well as external visitors.
“The site visitors positively commented on Jeff’s calm, confident, capable, warm and considerate demeanor and how thankful they were to have his assistance during their time on campus,” his nominator said.
Sudduth’s supervisor, Kara McElwrath, complimented his focus on putting people first.
“Jeff is an absolute rock star. He is incredibly talented. One of his many skills is how user-centered he is – whether the user is faculty, staff or student. I greatly admire his dedication to serving our campus,” McElwrath said.
Sudduth volunteers his time in the community, serving as a volunteer ambulance driver. He also serves on numerous committees at UIS, including the Commencement Committee, Academic Technology Committee and the Civil Service Advisory Committee.
