UIS Library is a month into the reading challenge, and we’ve already
received almost a hundred submissions. If you’re still looking for book ideas, don’t
worry, as many of our participants have been kind enough to give us
recommendations!
Here are some of the books that were submitted this past month:
Apparently, Sir Cameron Needs to Die by Greer Stothers (Category: A
Book With Magic)

I really liked this one! A cowardly knight teams up with a
villainous sorcerer after a prophecy that the sorcerer can only be
defeated after the knight is dead. And of course they fall in love,
but the worldbuilding/plot is really interesting and memorable and
I think more emphasized than the romance.

Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card (Category: an Audiobook)

Really enjoyed this book and more than expected as I am not the
biggest Science Fiction fan. The audio book was really well done
and felt that the author's commentary at the end about the audio
book was really nice.

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (Category: Science Fiction)

If you're looking for fun sci-fi that also will help restore faith in
humanity, this is the one! Weir's writing is so fun and funny,
but he also manages to make a heartwarming narrative about
the lengths we'll go to in order to help each other and save the
world. This is the exact kind of sci-fi I love best :)

Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne (Category: a Childhood Favorite)

Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne (Category: a Childhood Favorite)
I got this for Christmas, I had always wanted it as a child. It was
just as I had hoped it would be, so very close to the animated
Disney movies.

Red Clay by Charles. B Fancher (Category: Historical Fiction)

It is a story of great resilience and hope, and of finding
community in unlikely places. I absolutely loved this book and
would recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical fiction or
stories by Black voices.
