The Orion Award: For Exceptional Impact on Students

Do you know an employee who has gone above and beyond to help you or other students? If so, please consider nominating them for the Chancellor's Orion Award today!

This is a student-nominated award open to any current full-time employee not classified as a faculty member. If you are UIS faculty, staff, or an administrator and you are also a UIS student, you are eligible to nominate an employee for this award.

Nominees should demonstrate (some or all):

• A strong focus on student success
• Enrichment of the student experience
• Excellence in student customer service
• A student-first mentality

The nomination period will run from February 9, 2026 – February 20, 2026, and the winner will be announced at the joint Employee Appreciation, CARE, and CAPE Awards Ceremony on March 11, 2026.
