Our BIG News!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, the 2nd Act Campaign has surpassed the $750,000 milestone and has now raised more than $810,000, with fundraising continuing through June 30. This strong momentum has given us the confidence to take an important next step.

With their support, we’ve decided to move forward with placing the order to replace ALL of the seats and carpet throughout the entirety of Sangamon Auditorium, while also incorporating new aisles on the main floor, one of the most frequently requested improvements from our patrons. Completing this work in a single phase is the most fiscally responsible approach, allowing us to reduce labor costs and avoid the inefficiencies of multiple installations.

Moving ahead now also ensures we remain on track to reopen this fall with a fully refreshed auditorium. This decision reflects both careful stewardship of resources and our confidence in the generosity of our patrons, who continue to make this transformation possible. While there is still important fundraising ahead, your help in either making a gift, sharing our story with friends and colleagues, or by inviting us to speak with your community or civic group can make a meaningful difference.

We invite you to see Sangamon Auditorium at its “bare bones” - with all the seats and carpet removed! It’s the first step in our exciting transformation.

Come check out the new seat map, try out samples of the new chairs, and take a quick peek at the bathrooms in their current “under construction” state.

• When: February 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. or February 21 from 10 a.m. to noon
• Who: anyone who has given to the 2nd Act Campaign or anyone who will donate at the door the day of (we ask that you pay what you can)
