Living Learning Community (LLC) Opportunity
Necessary Steps
Necessary Steps is a Living Learning Community (LLC) designed for first-generation students during their first and second years at UIS. In this community, students live together, take courses together, and build a strong support network to help each other successfully navigate the first years of college.
UIS was selected as a new member to the First Gen Forward Network in 2025. This designation recognizes UIS for it's strong commitment to improving experiences and advancing success for first-generation college students.
