The Mathematical Sciences Minor provides students with a strong foundation in mathematics, equipping them with essential skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving and quantitative reasoning. This program is ideal for students who wish to complement their major with a rigorous mathematical background, enhancing their preparation for careers in fields that rely on mathematical methods.

Students interested in the minor should seek advising from faculty within the Mathematical Sciences department, who will assist in planning their coursework to ensure all requirements are met. To complete the minor, students must fulfill a set number of credit hours, with a portion of these being upper-division courses taken at the institution. Transfer credits for relevant coursework may be accepted based on evaluation.

In addition to core courses, students choose a specialization in areas such as mathematics, operations research, or statistics. This allows students to tailor the minor to their specific interests and career goals, developing expertise in a focused area of mathematical sciences. The program prepares students for diverse applications of mathematics in professional and academic pursuits.
