The Children of Veterans (COV) Tuition Waiver is a four-year consecutive in-state tuition waiver at the University of Illinois given to natural, step, or legally adopted children of service members who are veterans. No fees are covered. There are a limited number of these awarded each year across the University of Illinois system.

Apply for 2026-2027 Academic Year

Fill out and submit the Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver Form. The priority deadline for 2026-2027 is January 5, 2026, and all applicants will be notified by March 16, 2026. The application deadline for conflicts not awarded closes October 1, 2026.
