Trick or Treat for Canned Goods is a fun canned goods donation drive. Students, Faculty, and Staff form teams and the week before Halloween each team canvasses a neighborhood armed with fliers, door hangers, and T-shirts identifying themselves and the project. On Saturday, October 31, the teams return to their neighborhood to collect canned good rather than candy. All the food is brought back to a weigh-in party where volunteers gather to see how much they collected, learn from community members, and find out who collected the most food. All items go to fight food insecurity on campus.
In 2025, Trick or Treat for Canned Goods raised a combined total of over 8,000 lbs of food. Our goal for 2026 is to meet or exceed the donation with 20 or more teams participating.
