UIS senior golfer Elaine Grant has been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) East All-Region Team, the organization announced Wednesday. The honor is the first All-Region selection of her career.

Grant caps off one of the most accomplished careers in UIS golf history. A three-time All-GLVC selection and two-time NCAA Championships qualifier, she continued her standout play this spring by earning individual qualification to the national championship after tying for second place at the NCAA Regional and finishing as the top individual not on a qualifying team.

At the NCAA Championships, Grant recorded a tie for 19th-place finish, marking the top national performance in program history.

A native of Chillicothe, Illinois, and graduate of Illinois Valley Central High School, Grant leaves UIS as one of the most decorated golfers to wear the Prairie Stars uniform.
