Illinois Springfield women's golf will close out the regular season this week at the UMSL Spring Invitational, the final tune-up before the GLVC Championship.
The three-round event begins Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis, Mo. Teams will play two rounds Sunday before finishing the tournament with a final round Monday.
The Prairie Stars enter the event ranked No. 17 in the East Region and will face a strong field that includes multiple nationally and regionally ranked programs, including Grand Valley State (No. 2 East Region), UIndy (No. 3), Missouri-St. Louis (No. 3), McKendree (No. 10) and Davenport (No. 12). UIS will also compete against Quincy, Maryville (Mo.), Kentucky Wesleyan, Purdue Northwest, Ferris State, William Jewell, Lewis and Parkside.
Hosted by Missouri-St. Louis, the tournament features 17 teams competing in NCAA Division II competition.
Illinois Springfield's lineup will feature Elaine Grant, Erin Ahmafadzir, Lia Rody, Valentina Torrealba, Yi-Ting Hsieh and Ira Joshi competing as an individual.
The event marks UIS' final competition before shifting focus to the GLVC Championship.
