The Illinois Springfield men's track and field team competed at the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Thursday through Saturday, totaling 10 points to finish 13th of 14 teams. The Prairie Stars scored in four of the five distance events they contested.
Meet Highlights
- All three UIS entries advanced out of the 1500-meter prelims on Thursday evening, including two automatic qualifiers.
- In the 10,000-meter final, Joey Karlesky placed fifth to earn four points, and Matt Padilla added another with an eighth-place finish. Noah Tegeler also placed in the top 10.
- Ryan Jones claimed the final scoring spot in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Thursday night.
- Aidan Donohue earned two points with a seventh-place finish in the 1500-meter final.
- Matt Padilla added two more points in the 5,000 meters to become the team's only multi-event scorer.
