Dear UIS community —
The start of a new semester brings fresh energy, new goals and the promise of opportunity. However, as we move forward together this fall semester, it’s important to recognize that some members of our university community may be experiencing stressors or other challenges associated with recent tensions amid a shifting broader climate.
In uncertain times, staying connected and reaching out for support can make all the difference. I want to remind all students, faculty and staff of our available resources:
For students:
For employees:
Our leadership, together with University of Illinois System leaders, will continue to monitor any developments that may directly affect our university community, and we will share updates as necessary.
I encourage you all to be generous with grace toward yourselves and others, to check on one another — especially if you suspect a friend or colleague is struggling — and to ask for help if needed. UIS is a caring community of individuals who support each other. Never hesitate to reach out for assistance.
Thank you,
Janet
