It is the mission of the UIS Office of Financial Assistance to provide financial aid resources to students, administer aid programs with the highest integrity, and provide first-class customer service.

Office of Financial Aid mission statement

Approximately 80 percent of UIS undergraduate students receive financial aid through scholarships, grants, loans, and/or student employment. We are ready to help you apply for and receive assistance to fund your education.

Prairie Promise

Introducing the Prairie Promise in Fall 2024! The Promise ensures that every qualifying student in Illinois benefits from the transforming impact of education. It covers the cost of any outstanding tuition or fees after the State of Illinois MAP Grant, AIM HIGH grant, and UIS scholarships and awards have been deducted. You can visit the Prairie Promise page for more information.
