Global Studies major Hannah Cave was elected Student Representative to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees in April 2014. As the University of Illinois Springfield Student Trustee, Cave serves as an advocate for students making sure their voices are heard when it comes to university policy. She works alongside board members appointed by the governor and the president and chancellors of the three U of I campuses. On campus, she is also a resident assistant. Following graduation, Cave wants to be a middle school or high school social studies teacher or possibly work in higher education student affairs.

The Office of Campus Relations is the primary source of information for and about the campus, and the primary channel of communication between the campus and the public.
The office is responsible for news, information and media relations and the maintenance of files of FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests.
