Last year the University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team had one its best season in program history. Head coach Casey Thousand and the Prairie Stars made it a goal to achieve even more success this season and that's exactly what they did.
"Our seniors really led us in the beginning of the year and said 'coach we can do really good stuff,'" Thousand said. "I told them 'yeah we can be a really special team if we wanted to, but it's not going to be easy. It's going to be tough a long the way.' They've bought into what we're doing."
Special is the word to describe the UIS women's basketball program. The Prairie Stars have once again clinched one of their best seasons ever.
