Senior women's tennis standout Carmen Llopis Fabra has been selected as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month for April after a dominant stretch of play in conference action. Llopis Fabra, a native of Castellon, Spain, has been a consistent force in the Prairie Stars lineup and delivered her strongest performances of the season during the month of April.

Llopis Fabra posted a perfect 5-0 record in singles play during the month, all coming against Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents. She also went 4-1 in doubles, teaming up with Ema Norma Bordean as the Prairie Stars' top duo. Among her singles victories was a signature win over the No. 25-ranked player in the nation from UIndy, a major result that helped her climb from No. 73 to No. 51 in the ITA singles rankings.

Her efforts earned her a spot on the All-GLVC First Team, recognizing her as one of the top players in the conference. While UIS went 1-4 in team results during April, all of which were GLVC matchups, Carmen remained a bright spot throughout the lineup, providing a dependable point in nearly every outing.

Although her selection came after the cutoff for the 2025 UIS Female Athlete of the Year consideration—which was announced at the athletic banquet at the end of April—Llopis Fabra was already a nominee thanks to her season-long achievements. She now adds another individual honor to her resume with the April award.
