The UIS women's golf team turned in an improved performance on Tuesday during the second round of the NCAA Division II East Regional at The Meadows Golf Course, trimming eight strokes off its opening round score.

Round Recap
  • The Prairie Stars shot a 319 (+31) in round two, improving on Monday's score of 327.
  • Elaine Grant led the team with a 2-over 74, improving by three strokes from her first-round score. UIndy, just outside that group, keeps the door open for movement as the final round approaches.
  • Sara Prieto carded an 80 (+8), one stroke better than her first-round score, and is tied with Lia Rody, who posted a 79 (+7) after an opening-round 80.
  • Isabelle Segal showed improvement with a 14-over 86, cutting seven strokes from her previous round. Ira Joshi finished the round at 90 strokes (+18).
