The UIS softball team was recognized with three All-GLVC selections on Wednesday, as Rosie Bartletti and Ella Brinkley were named to the First Team and Taylor Zawacki earned a spot on the Second Team. The announcement came after the team's 7-2 victory over McKendree in the opening round of the GLVC Tournament, which improved the team's record to 30-18.

Rosie Bartletti | Junior | Pitcher | Springfield, Ill.
Rosie Bartletti has emerged as one of the top arms in the GLVC this season. A first-time All-GLVC honoree, Bartletti was named GLVC Pitcher of the Week twice in 2024, including in the final week of the regular season, and earned NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors once. She ranks among the conference leaders in the major pitching categories—second in wins with 19, third in ERA at 2.17, fourth in strikeouts with 218, and fifth in innings pitched with 164.1. Her 19 wins are the third most in UIS single-season history, and she is chasing Taylor Bowlby (20) and Ali Haesele (25) for the all-time lead. In Wednesday's game, Bartletti broke the UIS single-season strikeout record, surpassing Haesele's 2018 mark of 217. She currently ranks third in career strikeouts and fifth in innings pitched. Earlier this season, Bartletti set a new single-game record with 14 strikeouts against McKendree, only to raise the bar to 16 strikeouts the following week against Indianapolis.

Ella Brinkley | Senior | Third Base | Danville, Ind.
Ella Brinkley continued to build on one of the most decorated careers in UIS softball history with her third career All-GLVC selection—and her first First Team honor—after earning third-team recognition in 2023 and second-team honors in 2024. Brinkley leads UIS in hitting and was named to the NFCA Player of the Year Watchlist earlier this season. She is third in the GLVC in both batting average (.431) and slugging percentage (.677), and leads the conference with six triples. Defensively, she continues to anchor the hot corner for the Prairie Stars. Brinkley opened the postseason strong, leading off with a triple and scoring the day's first run against McKendree, then on defense laying out to snag a bunted ball in foul territory for a critical out and turning a double play the very next inning during the team's tournament-opening win. Brinkley is the program's all-time leader in hits and runs scored, and she ranks in the top 10 in additional categories such as batting average and total bases.

Taylor Zawacki | Senior | Outfield | Mokena, Ill.
Senior outfielder and utility player Taylor Zawacki added a second straight Second Team All-GLVC honor to her resume after another all-around impactful season for the Prairie Stars. Zawacki is batting .343—second on the team—and leads UIS with 13 doubles, while also tallying four triples and 12 stolen bases in 13 attempts. A steady contributor in the outfield and at the plate, she has also been a key arm in the circle, making 23 appearances and 10 starts with a 3-6 record and two saves. Defensively, she's posted 26 putouts and 22 assists with a .934 fielding percentage. Zawacki secured the final out of Wednesday's tournament opener, catching a fly ball in right field to seal the Prairie Stars' first GLVC Tournament win since 2019. She continues to climb the UIS career record book, ranking second in doubles, fifth in strikeouts, sixth in stolen bases, and seventh in hits—underscoring her versatility and value to the program.

Malia Bender is the team's sportsmanship honoree. At the end of the year, James R. Spalding sportsmanship honorees from each sport at UIS will be voted on to determine the male and female recipients of the James R. Spalding Individual Sportsmanship Award for the university.

The Prairie Stars return to action on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. against top-seeded Drury in the next round of the GLVC Tournament.
