The UIS men's golf team sits in 7th place after the opening round of the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational at The Pearl Club, posting a team score of 301.
The Prairie Stars were led by Daniel Edwards, who carded an even-par 72 to tie for sixth overall in round one. Sacha Lamraski added a 73, while Jake Baldin (77), Vilgot Arleback (79) Julien Babineau (80), and Peyton Woods (84) rounded out the squad.
Despite being in 7th, UIS remains in striking distance, just four strokes behind the T3 teams — Maryville and Kentucky Wesleyan, both at +9. The Prairie Stars will look to climb the leaderboard in Sunday's final round, which tees off at 8:00 a.m.
