The Illinois Springfield women's tennis team is set to compete this weekend at the ITA Midwest Small College Regional Championships, hosted by Davenport in Grand Rapids, Mich. This marks the second weekend of competition of the fall for the Prairie Stars and provides a strong opportunity to match up against both conference opponents and programs from across the region.

In singles play, Cristina Mendoza Romero will compete in Flight A. Niamh Grogan, Jane Carter, and Ema Norma Bordean are entered in Flight B, while freshmen Alisha Deogaonkar and Maria Garcia Gama will represent UIS in Flight C.

The doubles draws feature Bordean and Grogan in Flight A, while Deogaonkar and Garcia Gama will pair up in Flight B. Mendoza Romero and Carter will also compete as a duo in Flight B.

Singles action begins Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the Round of 64 and Round of 32. The Round of 16 and later matches are set for Sunday and Monday, including quarterfinal, semifinal, and championship play in each flight.

Doubles competition begins Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Bordean and Grogan will face a Rockhurst pair in the Flight A Round of 32. In Flight B, Deogaonkar and Garcia Gama will meet a duo from Tiffin, while Mendoza Romero and Carter open against Roosevelt. Consolation matches will run throughout the weekend alongside main draw action.
