The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has announced the 2024-25 recipients of the prestigious Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award, with 48 senior student-athletes from the UIS earning the honor.

This award recognizes student-athletes who have maintained a career GPA of 3.50 or higher, completed a minimum of 96 credit hours, and competed in the GLVC for at least two seasons. The honor may only be awarded once in a student-athlete's career.

Women's soccer led all UIS programs with 10 honorees, followed by men's soccer with eight and baseball with seven. In total, student-athletes from 11 different teams were recognized.

Four Prairie Stars achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout their collegiate careers: Anna Schurz, Tom Bumann, Sara Prieto, and Connor McFadden.
