The UIS women's soccer team continues its conference slate this weekend with a road swing through Missouri. The Prairie Stars face Rockhurst on Friday night in Kansas City before traveling to Bolivar to take on Southwest Baptist on Sunday afternoon.

Illinois Springfield (1-2-3, 0-1-2 GLVC)
The Prairie Stars are looking to get back in the win column for the first time since Sept. 10 against Ohio Dominican. A competitive but frustrating start to GLVC play has seen UIS drop points due to narrow margins and unlucky bounces. With the table still tightly packed early in the season, the Stars aim to build momentum in this crucial stretch.

UIS has history on its side against Southwest Baptist, holding a 5-0-1 all-time edge, including a 2-0 record in Bolivar. The Rockhurst matchup has traditionally been tougher, with UIS 2-14 overall, but the Stars took the 2023 meeting in Kansas City for their first road win against the opponent.

On the attack, Mallory Herber leads UIS with three goals, all coming in a hat trick against William Jewell. Freshman Madelyn Festerling has provided a spark with two goals and an assist, while Abbie Gleason paces the team with two assists. Several other Stars have also chipped in with either a goal or an assist.

In goal, Gigi Yurevich and Makenna Miller have split duties. Yurevich has made four starts and logged 360 minutes with a 1.50 goals-against average, while Miller owns the lone win and has stopped 11 shots in 180 minutes of action.

Rockhurst (1-3-1, 0-2-1 GLVC)
The Hawks have battled through a difficult early schedule, drawing with McKendree and falling narrowly to UMSL and nationally ranked Maryville. Rockhurst has allowed just three goals in league play but has been shut out in three of its six matches this season.

Veteran forward Anna Lantz remains a player to watch with two goals, matching Caitlyn Smith's team-leading total. Sydney Schmidt also found the net in non-conference play. Goalkeeper Kayce Cooper has started three matches, posting a .769 save percentage in 270 minutes.

Southwest Baptist (2-4-1, 0-2-1 GLVC)
The Bearcats have already faced two of the league's top contenders, falling to Maryville and UMSL, but earned a 2-2 draw with Lincoln. Sunday's meeting marks their GLVC home opener.

Senior Tamerra Gantt leads SBU with four goals and an assist, while Addi Shuler and Lydia Fickle have each scored twice. Cece Alexander has handled most of the goalkeeping duties, making 47 saves with a .770 save percentage across six starts.
