Workshop Formats
The Learning Hub offers online workshops to all current UIS students in the fall and spring semesters. These workshops provide students with a brief lesson on a featured topic. Then, students will apply the lesson through discussion and practice. Use the Workshop Registration button below to register for a workshop being held this semester. Schedules are listed on this page as well as posted to Campus Announcements and UIS Connection!
On-Campus Workshops
Writing and Academic Skills workshops are available for any UIS class. Instructors can request in-class workshops either to introduce The Learning Hub and its services or to cover writing- or academic skills-related content. To set up a workshop, faculty can use the Workshop Request button below.

Online Workshops
Online workshops are offered to all current UIS students. We conduct online workshops using online meeting software. The online workshop will follow the same format as the on-campus workshop with a brief lesson, discussion, and practice of the topic.
Pre-registration: Online workshops require pre-registration at least one day prior to the workshop date. Students can register for the workshop by sending an e-mail with their name, their UIN and the workshop’s title, date and time to The Hub or by filling out our Workshop Registration form below.
Following registration: Students will receive an email with a link to the online classroom prior to the workshop. To prepare, please ensure you have Java updated, and that you have working headphones and/or speakers to be able to hear the presentation. Microphones are optional, should you desire to ask questions aloud during the session.
Workshop Feedback & Survey
After you participate in an online workshop, we’d appreciate if you could complete a brief survey.
Workshop Recordings Policy
Our workshops may be recorded to allow other students unable to meet during the workshop to learn about the topics covered. Should you have any issues with this policy, please contact us at The Hub’s email.
