Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through service to our community. On this Day of Service, volunteers are invited to help assemble care kits for local nonprofit organizations supporting individuals and families in need. Organizations will include The James Project, Mini O'Beirne Crisis Nursery, Lee Elementary School, Helping Hands and others.
During this hands-on project, participants will sort items and prepare kits; snack kits for schoolchildren, essentials kits for foster families, and personal hygiene kits for unhoused individuals. All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is needed—just a willingness to help others.
This event is a meaningful way to put Dr. King’s message of compassion into action while making a tangible impact on our neighbors. Bring a friend, bring your energy, and be part of a day that celebrates service, unity, and hope.
This project is a pop style event - volunteers are welcome at any time between 1 and 4 pm or until all kits are completed. Stay as long as you like!
