The UIS women's golf team advanced to the match play semifinals at the GLVC Championship for the second time in three years. Competing as the No. 4 seed, the Prairie Stars faced top-seeded UMSL in Sunday morning's matchup.

Match Play Semifinal Results
  • Match 1: Lia Rody vs. Emmy Wahl – Wahl won by seven strokes
  • Match 2: Elaine Grant vs. Hillary Currier – Grant won by one stroke
  • Match 3: Sara Prieto vs. Wilma Zanderau – Zanderau won by nine strokes
  • Match 4: Ira Joshi vs. Brooke Inchiostro – Inchiostro won by two strokes
  • Match 5: Isabelle Segal vs. Mayan Covarrubias – Covarrubias won by eight strokes
  • UIS fell 4-1-0 in the match play round, ending its run in the semifinals.
  • The Tritons went on to face the UIndy Greyhounds in the final, where they were defeated 3-2 as UIndy claimed its 12th title in 13 years.
Match Play Highlights
  • Lia Rody finished No. 2 overall in par 3 scoring with a 3.00 average.
  • Elaine Grant was No. 1 in par 4 scoring with a 4.18 average (+2) and No. 3 in birdies with 3.
Based on the stroke play results from earlier in the weekend, Elaine Grant has been named an All-GLVC selection at the championships, finishing fourth overall with rounds of 72, 74, and 81 (227).

UIS will learn of its NCAA Tournament fate Monday afternoon when the field is announced on NCAA.com. The NCAA East Regional will take place May 5-7 at The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, Mich., hosted by Grand Valley State.
