The Illinois Springfield women's track and field team turned in a series of strong performances in the 5,000m on Friday at Grand Valley State. Multiple Prairie Stars set personal bests, highlighted by Madelyn Miller's school-record run of 16:37.46, which earned her an NCAA provisional mark and the No. 10 time in Division II this season.

Meet Highlights
  • Miller placed sixth in her heat of the 5,000 meter run, finishing behind three other new additions to the division's top 10. 
  • Lauren McBride cut more than a minute off her previous best, running 18:25.88, while Allison Thompson also broke the 19-minute barrier for the first time in 18:50. 
  • Jordan Serrahn, Lillian Buzani, and Marissa Roggensack also recorded personal bests in Heat 5.
  • Camille Terre raced the 600 early in the day, running 1:46 for 16th
