Congratulations to Dr. Amy McEuen, a Public Voices Fellow with The OpEd Project and an associate professor of biology, who has published her first Op-Ed via the news organization Next City. This op-ed argues that it is past time to change our lawn policies to help us conserve biodiversity and fight climate change in cities. Next City is a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire social, economic and environmental change in cities through journalism and events around the world. As the biology program lead, Dr. McEuen also helps to run our Biology program here at UIS and has ongoing research in the tallgrass prairie restorations out at Emiquon. Here is the link to her op-ed.
