  • Sigma Sigma Sigma Winter 2018
    The Theta Lambda chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma is founded at UIS.
  • Delta Kappa Epsilon April 28, 2018
    The Kappa Beta colony of Delta Kappa Epsilon is founded at UIS.
  • Sigma Lambda Beta Dec 3, 2016
    A colony of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. is established at UIS.
  • Delta Sigma Theta November 19, 2016
    The Upsilon Rho chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is founded at UIS.
  • Zeta Phi Beta April 9th, 2016
    The Alpha Phi chapter of Zeta Phi Beta is founded at UIS.
  • Gamma Phi Omega Dec 6, 2014
    The Chi chapter of Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority, Inc. is founded at UIS.
  • Phi Kappa Tau October 11th, 2014
    Zeta Zeta chapter of Phi Kappa Tau is founded at UIS.
  • Alpha Kappa Alpha Spring 2014
    Tau Chi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. is founded at UIS.
  • Phi Beta Sigma November 16th, 2013
    Mu Eta chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. is resurrected after over 30 years becoming the second fraternity established at UIS.
  • Alpha Phi Alpha February 11th 2013
    Upsilon Xi chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. performed the first probate in UIS history.
  • Greek Affairs Board September 2012
    Greek Affairs Board was established. The board consisted of Kyle Palmer, Robert Dixon Jr., Ashley Harris, Jasmine Torres-Gonzalez, Daniel Garcia, Mary Strong, Jazmyn Norcross, Zhe Chen Chen, and Zitong Zhang.
  • Social Greeks May 11th, 2012
    Chancellor Susan Koch approved the implementation of Social Greek Letter Organizations to be a part of the campus life at the University of Illinois Springfield.
  • Social Greek Request May 5th 2012
    The University of Illinois Springfield Greek Life Petitioning Group submitted the official letter of request of approval for the implementation of Social Greek Life at UIS to the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Dr. Timothy Barnett.
  • GLPG Expanded 2010/2011
    Jessica Odigie joined the petitioning group as President. Soon after, Robert Dixon Jr. joined the petitioning group and became Vice President to assist with presentations, petitioning, and holding forums.
  • GLPG Founded 2009
    The Greek Life Petitioning Group (GLPG) was founded in 2009 with the goal of seeing positive change at UIS with the implementation of Social Greek Letter Organizations (SGLO). The GLPG began with three students, Ashley Marshall, Nicholas Bell, Kyle E. Palmer, was first created with the help of their advisor Dr. Clarice Ford. The next year was focused on holding questionnaires, forums, and campus climate surveys.
  • Phi Beta Sigma 1980
    Mu Eta Undergraduate Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. was established as a state wide chapter that was located on the campus of Sangamon State University, now known as the University of Illinois Springfield.
