Office of Advising Services, Information, and Support

Welcome to the Office of Advising Services, Information, and Support (OASIS)! We look forward to helping you navigate your academic journey at UIS.

You will work with professional, faculty, and peer advisors throughout your time at UIS.  Advisors help you map your academic pathway based on your specific needs and interests. We will help you explore majors and understand your DARS report, the Advising Guides as well as the University’s General Education Requirements.

New students with fewer than 30 credit hours will be advised within OASIS, located in the Center for Academic Success. Transfer students with 30 or more credit hours but are still deciding on a major are also advised in OASIS.  If you have successfully completed 30 or more credit hours and know your major, you are assigned to a College and/or Faculty Advisor .
