Director of Engagement and Curator

Anne E. Moseley serves as the inaugural Director of Engagement and Curator for the Sangamon Experience. She possesses a Bachelor’s degree in History from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE) and a Master’s degree in Public History from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS). Prior to assuming her current position at UIS, she held the roles of director and curator at the Lincoln Heritage Museum located at Lincoln College.
In 2013, Anne attained certification as a Certified Interpretive Trainer (CIT) from the National Association for Interpretation (NAI). In recognition of her significant contributions to collections management and exhibit development at the Lincoln Heritage Museum, she was awarded the Malkovich Award for Young Museum Professional by the Illinois State Historical Society in 2015. Furthermore, she was distinguished as one of the Illinois Jaycees Outstanding Young Persons of Illinois in 2025.
Anne has served on many boards over the years the National Association for Interpretation Region 5 (2013-2023), the board of the Abraham Lincoln Association (2016-2023), and the advisory board for The Lincoln Forum (2016-2023).
Currently, Anne actively participates in various professional organizations, including the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area Steering Council, as a board member of the Illinois State Historical Society, and the Abraham Lincoln Center for Character Development Board.
Outside of work, Anne enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on her son playing soccer and husband at CrossFit competitions, and singing and painting with her daughter. She also enjoys cheering on the UIS Soccer teams, attending community events, hiking and reading a good book.
Office Administrator

Jenny Harris is the Office Administrator for the Sangamon Experience. A lifelong resident of central Illinois, Jenny has always felt a deep connection to the region and its communities. She attended Robert Morris University in Springfield in 1999, where she built the foundation for a long and successful career in healthcare administration.
In May 2024, Jenny joined the Sangamon Experience, eager to broaden her professional horizons and contribute to preserving the area’s rich local history. She takes great pride in supporting the organization’s mission to celebrate the stories and lessons of Central Illinois' past. With her attention to detail and friendly disposition, you will feel you are in capable hands any time you reach out to the Sangamon Experience.
Outside of work, Jenny enjoys cooking and organizing social events. She’s a regular at the local Farmers Market, where she loves picking up fresh flowers and seasonal produce to inspire her next culinary creation.
Graduate Assistant

Evie Rodenbaugh is the Graduate Assistant for the Sangamon Experience. She is originally from Hannibal, Missouri and got her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Southeast Missouri State University. Evie is working toward an M.A. in Public History at UIS.
Evie is passionate about people and their stories. She cares deeply about rural communities, advocating for heritage as a path to a brighter future. At the Sangamon Experience, Evie runs social media accounts, assists with community outreach, and produces public history projects. Her biggest project was Radio That Listens to You: 50 Years of NPR Illinois, highlighting the history and legacy of central Illinois’ public radio station.
Evie is also a professional country-folk musician, nature lover, and fun-haver. She loves visiting home to see her family and find Bigfoot.
Advisory Board

The advisory board provides feedback and suggests directions for sustaining the Sangamon Experience. They meet quarterly and as needed. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Advisory Council, contact us at sangamonexperience@uis.edu.
