The UIS men's indoor track & field team will travel to Louisville, Ky., this Friday, Jan. 24, to compete in the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.

Meet Preview
The event, hosted by Bellarmine University, will feature 18 schools, including teams such as Southern Indiana, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, and Ball State.

UIS will field a strong group of distance runners, with multiple entries in the 3,000-meter run, along with competitors in the 800m and mile events. The meet will include seeded divisions for select events, such as the 3,000m, 800m, and mile. Notably, Isaac Cortes and Briar Nevills will represent UIS in the men's seeded division of the 3,000m later in the afternoon.

Last Weekend
UIS had a strong start to the season at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic. In the men's mile run, Isaac Cortes recorded a time of 4:18.62, ranking him third in the GLVC, while Aidan Donohue and Balin Doud followed closely, ranking fifth and sixth, respectively.

In the 5,000 meters, UIS boasts four runners in the conference's top-18, led by Brock Loftus with a time of 15:19.30. Additionally, Ryan Jones delivered an impressive performance in the men's 800m, running 1:56.07 to secure the fifth spot in the league rankings.
