The University of Illinois Springfield and the UIC College of Nursing Springfield Campus recently hosted their "Nurse for a Day" program, offering local high school students a glimpse into the nursing profession.
Participants explored nursing and athletic training facilities at UIS, gaining insight into the field.
Susan Hovey, associate director, emphasized the importance of the program, stating, "There's a nursing shortage in rural Illinois and so this is an opportunity for high school students to come over here and learn a little bit about what it is like to be a nurse and look at our campus."
