Welcome to the University of Illinois Springfield’s official resource for fraternity and sorority policies. This page outlines the university’s expectations regarding hazing, risk management, and behavioral standards for affiliated organizations. These policies are designed to promote safety, respect, and accountability within our campus community.

Before reviewing specific fraternity/sorority policies, all students should first familiarize themselves with the overarching campus rules outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.

UIS Hazing Policy:

Hazing, defined as an act which endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student, or which destroys or removes public or private property, for the purpose of initiation, admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition for continued membership in, a group or organization. The express or implied consent of the victim will not be a defense. Apathy or acquiescence in the presence of hazing are not neutral acts; they are violations of this rule.

Please refer to the Dean of Students for additional details relating to the Hazing Policy.
