Kali Osburn, building service sub-foreman in Campus Recreation, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for June 2025.

“Kali is committed to keeping a clean and welcoming space for our students, staff and guests,” her nominator said.

Her nominator also highlighted how she has stepped up while they are currently down one position.

“She has willingly taken overtime shifts and has helped to schedule the work for an additional overtime employee,” her nominator said.

Obsburn’s supervisor, Jay Swenson, praised her proactive approach in taking on new tasks.

“Kali takes initiative when it comes to her position,” Swenson said. “With a new employee starting soon, she asked if she could reorganize the daily duty list as it hadn’t been completed in a while. She also created a document containing monthly and yearly tasks. Now, we are getting ahead because of Kali’s help.”
