Overview

This course is a 4-week, instructor-led course (4 CEUs). This course introduces higher education faculty to the foundational concepts and ethical considerations of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. Through hands-on exploration of accessible AI tools, participants will learn how to thoughtfully integrate AI into their teaching practices. The course emphasizes responsible use, practical application, and student-centered design, with opportunities for reflection, collaboration, and content creation.

Outcomes

As a result of completing course activities and interacting in discussion forums, learners will be able to:

 

  • Explain foundational AI concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Examine how students are engaging with AI and identify ways to promote ethical use
  • Generate or revise instructional content using AI-supported tools
  • Design visual and video elements to support student engagement and understanding
  • Reflect on the role of AI in their teaching and articulate a plan for responsible integration
