Zach Logsdon has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for December 2023. He is an IT technical associate for UIS Information Technology Services.
Logsdon played an integral role in the launch of the new UIS Esports Arena. His supervisor, Kara McElwrath, adds “He goes above and beyond to make sure that user needs are met and offers not just a solution to the problem at hand but also alternatives to provide flexibility.”
“Not only has he been involved in the planning of the space, but he also volunteered to build the gaming computers by hand in order to save thousands of dollars and keep the project under budget,” McElwrath said.
Logsdon’s co-workers describe him as patient, dependable and full of drive, adding that he sets the standard for making positive impressions with both students and colleagues.
“Zach has again and again put students first with this project and there’s no way we’d be where we are today without him,” said his nominator.
Logsdon is dedicated to making the UIS campus a home for students, “His focus is on how we can improve UIS for students, and his efforts pay off for our campus community,” said McElwrath.
“I wouldn’t want to do my job without Zach,” said McElwrath. “Our ITS team would not be as strong without him.”
