The University of Illinois Springfield’s Center for State Policy and Leadership (CSPL) will discuss the important work it’s doing to promote the public good during its annual showcase event on Thursday, Sept. 14 in the UIS Student Union Ballroom. The event will begin at 8 a.m. with networking and a breakfast, followed by the program from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

The Center includes the Office of Graduate Intern Programs, the Alliance for Experiential and Problem Based Learning, the Illinois Innocence Project, the Office of Electronic Media and NPR Illinois.

• NPR Illinois Community Voices co-hosts Bea Bonner and Vanessa Ferguson will moderate a discussion on “Police and Wrongful Convictions – Educating the Next Generation” featuring panelists from the Illinois Innocence Project
• The CSPL Research & Evaluation team will present on the topic of “Problem Solving for the Public Sector”
• The Alliance for Experiential and Problem Based Learning will discuss its trauma-informed partnerships
• “Public Service Workforce Pipeline: Empowering Tomorrow’s Public Service Leaders” will be the topic of a panel discussion
