Laci Engelbrecht has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for March 2024. She is the director of financial aid.
Her supervisor, Vickie Cook, said that Engelbrecht is extremely reliable and productive.
“I rely on her to ensure that the university is meeting the heavily regulated work of financial aid,” Cook said. “Laci is very dependable and her work is greatly appreciated.”
Engelbrecht’s first nominator praised her for being a rare leader.
“Laci has done an amazing job of leading the financial aid team. She came into the role just two years ago and took on a very small team that was devastated by turnover,” her first nominator said. “She has been able to hire and retain excellent team members and fully staff the office.”
Engelbrecht’s second nominator considers her an extraordinary manager.
“Laci works very hard in her role and is an exceptional supervisor for our team,” her second nominator said. “She has worked to make sure our team is fully staffed, and she always does everything she can to assist students and parents.”
Engelbrecht is known for her positive attitude and hard work.
“She is a colleague that goes the extra mile every day,” Cook said. “She provides leadership and a positive outlook with her staff.”
