Welcome to the Office of International Student Services

The Office of International Student Services supports and enhances the academic, cultural, and social experience of all UIS international students. We provide programs and services that are culturally sensitive and of the highest quality. The OISS is the primary liaison between our international students and the university, the community, and the US government.

OISS programs and services include:

  • Advising international students regarding personal, social, academic, and immigration concerns

  • Promoting understanding of and compliance with federal immigration regulations and university policies

  • Keeping international students apprised of upcoming events of particular interest to them

  • Assisting the Office of Admissions with the recruitment of a diverse international student population

  • Providing International Student Orientation programs and workshops on employment issues, taxes, cultural adjustment, reentry, and other topics

  • Cooperating with the International Student Association on issues of importance to all international students (the ISA is comprised of all UIS international students)

  • Collaborating with other UIS departments to promote cross-cultural understanding and to provide the best service possible to our international students
