The Counseling Center provides counseling, outreach and psychological consultation to UIS students.

Invest In UIS

Counseling services are free of charge to UIS students that have paid the Health and Counseling Fee. Exclusively online students will be charged the equivalent of the Health and Counseling Fee for each semester that they receive counseling services.

The fee for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 is $80. The fee for Summer 2016 is $40.

Concerned about someone’s safety?

If you become aware of a student that has threatened or attempted suicide, engaged in efforts to prepare to commit suicide or expressed a preoccupation with suicide, please call the Counseling Center immediately at (217) 206-7122.

At-Risk Suicide Prevention Training is interactive training simulations designed to educate faculty, staff, and students in supporting students who struggle with depression and suicidal ideation, LGBTQ students who are struggling due to harassment or exclusion, and student veterans who are adjusting to college life.
