UIS named to President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for 5th Year in a Row!!

This award is one of the highest federal recognitions a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. During the 2011-12 academic year, UIS students spent 65,181 hours engaged in community service. A total of 830 students engaged in some type of community service, with 476 students volunteering at least 20 hours!

 Study Abroad in Israel!

There is a new study abroad initiative currently being planned by the Office of International Programs at UIS.  The partner university is the Ben-Gurion University (BGU) of Negev in Israel.  The University offers a very attractive program in Global Public Health.  The program is open to all UIS students (graduate and undergraduate).  The application deadline is February 14, 2015 for this year’s trip.  Application information may be found at:
