Statewide political magazine celebrates 30 yearsSeptember 8, 2005
Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Illinois House GOP Leader Tom Cross of Oswego, state Sen. James Clayborne Jr. (D-Belleville) and state Rep. Susana Mendoza (D-Chicago) will serve on the panel. State Sen. John J. Cullerton (D-Chicago) and state Rep. Robert S. Molaro (D-Chicago) will perform a comedy sketch on Illinois politics. Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley will serve as honorary chairs, along with University of Illinois President B. Joseph White, University of Illinois at Springfield Chancellor Richard D. Ringeisen and Samuel K. Gove, co-founder of the magazine. Former Illinois Issues publisher, Ed Wojcicki, will be the master of ceremonies. Illinois Issues, published by the Center for State Policy and Leadership at the University of Illinois at Springfield, is a monthly magazine focusing on state government and politics. Gov. Edgar is a member of the magazine’s advisory board. For the past three decades, the magazine has published in-depth reporting and thoughtful analysis from a statewide perspective. The luncheon will provide an opportunity to explore, from a fresh perspective, some of the policy challenges Illinois could face in the coming decades.
